Kewalo Harbor
1240 Ala Moana Blvd
Overview
Once known as the fishery of Kukuluae‘o, the 30-acre harbor now houses a mix of personal, commercial and charter vessels. Just across the street from Ward Village, an easy and enjoyable walk or bike ride away, this waterfront amenity has become a popular destination for all water enthusiasts—sailors, surfers, divers, fishermen and more—furthering the neighborhood’s connection to nature. Its storied history dates way back, and in 1913, it was sold by the Victoria Ward family to the territory of Hawai‘i. Just over a century later, in 2014, The Howard Hughes Corporation assumed management and operation, and subsequently completed a $20M renovation to the facility, upgrading the overall infrastructure.
