France-based artist Arik Levy has gained world renown for his iconic “Rock Series,” and, as a surfer, garners much inspiration from Hawaiʻi’s geological structures. His sculpture, Mauna Vortex, which is currently located at Kōʻula, allows viewers to see an inverted reflection of nature and people, creating a unique multidimensional experience. Throughout this piece, you will find the artist playing with notions of balance and stability, gravity and weightlessness.
