Auahi Street Improvements

The Auahi Street improvements that are now underway will create nearly eight acres of pedestrian-friendly space, including a reimagined streetscape featuring wider sidewalks, and abundant, shade-producing foliage. We’re further incorporating open public spaces, parks and playgrounds with commercial, dining, and retail experiences to strengthen connectivity between people and place.

Future Park Space

Expect to see more welcoming walkways, playgrounds, and parks. Victoria Ward Park will expand mauka (currently under development) and makai, and offer over three acres of recreational lawns and gathering places for the community’s enjoyment. Ulana Ward Village will add more open green space with a new public park and children’s play area.

Ala Moana Elevated Walkway

The future-planned elevated walkway will connect Ala Moana Beach Park and Kewalo Harbor to urban Honolulu, improving connectivity and quality of life for residents and visitors.

The Ala Moana Boulevard Pedestrian Overpass (“overpass”) is a State of Hawaiʻi Department of Transportation (“State DOT”) safety project estimated to be completed in early 2025. This mauka-makai oriented land bridge will link the paths on either side of Ala Moana Boulevard to provide pedestrians and bicyclists a safer way to cross Ala Moana Boulevard. Victoria Ward, Limited donated the land for the project and financially contributed to the bridge design and environmental documentation. The State DOT is responsible for the construction and completion of the overpass. The Ward Village Owners Association, the Ward Village master community association, will be responsible for the management, maintenance and upkeep of the overpass and any costs associated therewith.
