France-based artist Arik Levy has gained world renown for his iconic Rock series, and, as a surfer, garners much inspiration from Hawaiʻi’s geological structures. His sculpture “Mauna Vortex” is currently located at Kōʻula, allowing viewers to see an inverted reflection of nature and people, creating a unique multidimensional experience. Throughout this piece, you will find the artist playing with notions of balance and stability, gravity, and weightlessness.
