Celebrate Your Love at Ward Village
Love is in the air and the sun is shining overhead in Honolulu. If there’s a better way for a couple to celebrate their connection than spending the day in Ward Village, we haven’t found it. Home to an array of restaurants, arts, entertainment, and adventures, date nights at Ward Village are a surefire way to kindle your love and make a memory you’ll be talking about for months to come. To help make it even easier for you to map out your perfect date night, we’ve taken the liberty of drafting up a handful of ideas. Now go have some fun.
Couples Yoga
If you’re looking to keep up your new year’s fitness resolution, get your sweat on, and stretch your body, opt for a yoga session at CorePower with your special someone. If you’re new to yoga, we definitely recommend considering the intro level for you and your date. Not only will you feel more invigorated and limber following the class, but you’ll have an experience that you can do together as a couple well into the future.
SUP at Sunset
Grab your boards, get your paddles, and make your way to the shoreline for a not-so-traditional sunset cruise and a couples’ stand-up paddles session at Ala Moana Beach Park. Nestled across the street from Ward Village, there’s no finer way to celebrate your shared passion and nature’s beauty than taking in a sunset from an SUP in the tepid waters of the man-made channel.
Dinner at Merriman’s
Known for their Hawaii regional cuisine and local first, organic approach to the menu, Merriman’s is renowned for delivering deliciousness in spades every time you walk through the door. From their hand-crafted cocktails to local seafood (we recommend starting with a half dozen oysters) to their out-of-this world cast-iron organic chicken and legendary lobster pot pie, a romantic meal at Merriman’s never disappoints.
Dessert at Piggy Smalls
While Piggy Smalls may have garnered international fame for their inspired take on Vietnamese cuisine, we’d be remiss if we didn’t say that their desserts hold a special place in our heart. Specifically, we’re currently smitten with their Frozen s’mores, composed of chocolate sorbet, house-made graham crackers, and bruleéd marshmallow fluff. Trust us on this one, you’ll just have to try it. Just remember to share a few bites with your date.
Walk off Dessert and Feast on Public Art
Full of romance, love, and dessert, a leisurely stroll through Ward Village at night is the perfect way to end an unforgettable day. And because Ward Village is home to an array of public art, you won’t have to travel far to see the works of Shepard Fairey displayed along Ala Moana Blvd. and Ward Ave., to the modernist sculptures and living wall Anaha, to the array of work showcased within South Shore Market, a night spent leisurely taking in public art with someone you care about makes for a worldly bookend to yet another perfect day in Ward Village.
